CAD Operator or Designer

Maxwell-Reddick & Associates is seeking an experienced CAD Operator or Designer (AutoCAD Civil 3D) to support project needs in the Statesboro and Alpharetta, Georgia offices. The selected candidate will 40 hours per week to perform computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) for a variety of civil engineering design projects under the supervision of Engineers.

•Drafting, editing, and finalizing design plans and details using appropriate and efficient methods and adhering to Maxwell-Reddick & Associates drafting standards;

•Prepare plan sets, drawing layouts, spreadsheets and generate land development application documents in conformance with accepted standards, technical criteria and local regulatory codes.

•Prepare detailed site maps and plans of demolition, erosion control, grading, accessibility, parking, street, paving, drainage, hydrology, pond and utility piping plans with sections and profiles and cross references using AutoCAD Civil 3D

•Maintain notes and other documentation (like drawings, list of design parameters, and performance guarantees) for future reference

•Managing production of drawing sets from creation, markup and modification based on overall design;

•Responsible to properly package submittals diligently ask questions, and pursue work.

•Possesses significant technical knowledge and awareness to be able to recognize technical or schedule concerns and pro-actively respond. 

•Assist in scheduling and analysis of time required to perform civil design tasks.

Preferred candidates will have an Associate’s degree or two years of full-time experience performing CADD / Civil 3d design work; or equivalent combination of education, experience and training that provides the prerequisite knowledge, skills, and abilities, including those described below. Familiar with government/municipal permitting codes and processes for site development, corrections, exemptions, and subdivisions and be able to find and implement site design code requirements of other locales.

•Proficiency in the use of AutoCAD Civil 3D (release 2014 or above);

•Experience developing and working with grading plans, cross-sections, alignments, profiles, and three-dimensional surfaces for civil design projects;

•Experience using/incorporating land or aerial surveying/mapping data and files;

•Possess strong reasoning and geometrical skills;

•Understanding of Microsoft Office applications, including Acrobat Adobe, Windows, Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Civil Engineer Project Manager

Maxwell-Reddick and Associates is seeking a highly motivated and ambitious Full Time Civil Engineer in its Statesboro, GA and Alpharetta, GA offices. We are offering a career opportunity for someone with 2-6 years of civil engineering experience, who possess expertise in site design and land development including but not limited to: roads, grading, drainage studies, erosion control, utility infrastructure, and storm and sanitary sewers. 

 

 

•Zoning Reviews of municipal zoning and land development ordinances and applicable agency regulations to determine land development limitations for the property

•Site Investigation & Due Diligence, including the review of ordinances, utility service research, outside agency regulations and site visits to establish comprehensive development guidelines

•Preparation of Concept Drawings based upon client's development objectives and conclusions of due diligence. Involves preparation of concept plan, including coordination with AutoCAD drafters

•Design of Stormwater Management, Stormwater Conveyance Systems, and Stormwater Detention including use of AutoCAD/C3D and Hydrology design software. Skills should include preparation of pipe sizing calculations for stormwater conveyance systems, including drainage area maps, surface runoff coefficients, invert, slope, velocity & hydraulic grade line evaluation using the Rational Method & Manning's Equation

•Knowledge of stormwater management design regulations should include County, Georgia Stormwater Management Manual, and governing municipality. Skills should include preparation stormwater management report including supporting calculations using SCS Method. 

•Grading Design to ensure value engineering is achieved through earthwork analysis, and site safety is accomplished through the use of appropriate design slopes

•Design of Utility Systems, including stormwater conveyance, sanitary sewer service, water, gas, telephone service, etc. Also involves determination and resolution of vertical and horizontal utility conflicts that may exist

•Soil Erosion & Sediment Control Design, including stability calculations, Best Management Practices, swale design, spillway design, and determination of construction sequence

•Preparation of Construction Cost Estimates based upon site plan drawings as required for bonding and client purposes

•Project Coordination, including conferring with client, attorney, project team and Maxwell-Reddick and Associates affiliates for the purpose of preparing a comprehensive site plan application

•Preparation of Written Correspondence with outside agencies, client, attorney, contractor, etc. Also includes preparation of technical reports including drainage, sanitary sewer, and site investigation reports

•Other duties as assigned

•Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology

•EIT, PE preferred

•2-6 years of commercial site design, single, and multifamily residential sites, and permitting experience

•GSWCC Level II Certified Preferred

•Experience designing both residential subdivisions and pad retail sites; urban infill experience strongly preferred; with limited supervision and the ability to compile a full set of civil site plan document

•Must have the ability to understand and implement jurisdictional requirements in the design of residential and commercial projects

•Excellent written and communication skills

•Knowledge in AutoCAD (Civil 3D)

Entry-Level Civil Engineer

Maxwell-Reddick and Associates, Inc. is currently seeking Entry Level Civil Engineers for our Statesboro, GA and Alpharetta, GA offices. 

 

 

•Perform civil design (i.e., grading, drainage, paving, geometric design, utility design, etc.), sketches, technical comparisons and similar technical work as required by the project.

•Review and coordinate drawings supplied by vendors, clients, and architects.

•Research codes and work with City, County, and State officials.

•Travel may be required to attend meetings, project sites, or other business-related functions.

•Assist with other duties as assigned by Project Engineers and/or Project Managers.




•Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, 

•EIT certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment

•0-2 years of engineering-related work experience with either a municipality or engineering consulting firm.

•Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred

Survey Crew Chief

Maxwell-Reddick & Associates is seeking a highly motivated and ambitious Survey Crew Chief for a full-time position at our Statesboro office. This position will be working with a Registered Land Surveyor and assisting in developing survey databases, boundary, topographic surveys, and construction staking, for engineering design projects and individual surveying clients.



•Surveys will consist of topographic, boundary, subdivision, ALTA, wetlands, and construction layout to determine the locations of natural features and man-made structures.

•Operate survey instruments such as robotic total stations, data collectors, GPS, and other standard survey equipment to collect field data.

•Interpret construction plans, perform necessary calculations in the field, and perform construction layouts.

•Create legible and accurate field notes.

•Set up, minor maintenance, and operation of all field survey equipment, vehicles, and supplies.

•Perform all work in a safe and responsible manner in accordance with the Health and Safety Plan.

•Possess talent to act as a positive representative of the company and its core values.

•Perform other duties as assigned. 

•High school diploma or GED required.

•College or technical courses in mathematics and surveying is preferred

•Minimum of 4 years of survey or construction-related experience.  

•Prior Instrument Operator experience preferred.

•Familiar with field procedures for performing boundary, topographic, ALTA/ACSM land title surveys.

•Experience with Carlson Survey, AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D is a plus. 

•Ability to work outside in all seasons.

•Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required.




Registered Land Surveyor

Maxwell-Reddick and Associates, Inc. is seeking a Registered Land Surveyor for our Statesboro, GA and Alpharetta, GA offices.

•Assist project teams in developing and executing technical approaches to problem-solving, specifically as related to surveying activities

•Review as built surveys, perform deed and plat research, review plats, draft/design drawings, maintain records and assess surveying problems such as right-of-way abutments, legal access, etc

•Communicate with subcontractors, regulatory agents, tenants, property owners and clients during records review process

•Support preparation of permits, written reports, proposals, cost estimates, and other client deliverables

•Abide by all applicable laws, ordinances, policies, standards and regulations pertaining to the specific duties and responsibilities of the job

•Demonstrate an interest in continuous learning and development and work collaboratively with others in the company

•Assist with development and administration of policies, procedures, plans, and activities and monitor performance
