Maxwell-Reddick and Associates, Inc. performed a number of tasks to make this project feasible including Boundary and Topographic Surveys, coordinating and negotiating median and access changes with the affected private property owners, designing the highway improvements, permitting and negotiating the final decisions with GDOT and Bulloch County, obtaining easements from adjacent private property owners, developing and administrating the bid package and bidding process, aiding in obtaining funding grants, providing construction observations, providing contract administration, and reviewing shop drawings and pay requests.
Our Approach
As part of the infrastructure development for the Southern Gateway Commerce Park, the existing corridor of US Highway 301/GA State Route 73 was improved to provide better access to the park. These improvements include widening the highway to include turn lanes, relocating an existing median break, adding road intersections, and adding curb and gutter with the necessary medians, storm inlets, and sidewalks.
The construction bids were well below the project’s budget, thus some funding was re-directed towards the internal access roadways of the Southern Gateway Commerce Park. Even with the additional costs associated with the internal access roadways, the overall project, once completed, came in under budget.
